As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I had the pleasure of exploring Calafia Kitchen, where the food is as inviting as the warm service. Customers rave about their experiences, with mentions of standout dishes like the bacon burger—a favorite among patrons for its rich flavor and satisfying portion. The immense onion rings have also caught the eye of many, praised for their size and taste, marking them as a must-try snack.
When it comes to breakfast, guests have sung high praises for foodie delights such as the Texas toast French toast adorned with berries and a whisper of vanilla, and chilaquiles that evoke comfort and taste in every bite. The hearty corned beef hash stands out for those seeking a classic breakfast experience, while the expertly crafted Belgian waffles remain a hit for those with a penchant for sweetness, despite some noting a slightly higher price tag that reflects the generous portions and exceptional quality.
What truly sets Calafia Kitchen apart is not just the exquisite food but the atmosphere and service. Customers continuously highlight the cozy and inviting vibe, making every visit feel like a homecoming. With attentive staff like Romeo, the dining experience becomes more personal. Patrons leave feeling not just satisfied but connected—truly part of the family at Calafia.

“ My Girlfriend and I ate here during summer 2024 and it was great. Tonight we were trying to find a different restaurant rather then our usual places and then I remembered this place. I said we always forget about them. The first time it was great and tonight was even better. Service was on point and food was delicious. I've never seen onion rings the size of the ones they serve and they were delicious. The bacon burger was absolutely fire. I highly recommend and we definitely will be back. Thank you for the great meal. ”
“ We were taking a drive from Los Angeles to Walnut Creek. We stopped in Liverpool to charge our vehicle. It looked like a nice place. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent. We had the Belgian waffles. They were delicious . It seems a little pricey, but the meals are well portioned. The service was also great! If you're in the area, you should definitely give them a try. ”
“ The chilaquiles, crepes, and omelets are absolutely amazing! The food is delicious, and the service is top-notch. I’ll definitely be back for more! ”
“ My wife and I stopped lunch after a long flight home! We had only been here once before but after tasting our meals, we will gladly return! The texas toast french toast with berries was the best I have ever eaten! The toast had a great strawberry sauce on it, with a hint of vanilla in the bread! The french toast was covered in various berries and banana pieces and came with whipped cream and a light dyrup. It was so juicy and tasty we never used the syrup. The waiter said they make it special there. I highly recommend it and the rest of their menu!& ”
“ A Hidden Gem Worth the Short Drive! My wife and I have had breakfast at Calafia Kitchen three or four times now, and it’s become one of our favorite morning spots in Livermore. A little tucked away from the downtown hustle, this place is so worth finding. Their specialty coffee is excellent, and I can't get enough of the corned beef hash—it’s the perfect comfort food done right. My wife swears by their classic breakfast and is obsessed with the breakfast sausage. What really makes this place special is the warm, attentive service. Romeo is our go-to server—friendly, knowledgeable, and always makes us feel right at home without hovering. We loved learning the story behind the name “Calafia,” too. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, the menu is full of delicious choices (we can't wait to come back for lunch and dinner), and every visit feels like we’re part of the Calafia family. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for real food, friendly people, and a great start to the day! ”
“ Absolutely amazing. These are some of the best tacos I have ever experienced. I am hard to impress with food but the flavors and quality of food were a caliber of Michelin Star level. ”
“ This is a really good place for lunch or dinner. The food ingredients are fresh and very well made. The fries, OMG, crispy on the outsizde and not greasy at all! But the onion rings are superb!! I had the chicken sandwich, the bread was freah, and filled full. Hubby’s pulled pork was very full also. I could only eat half my sandwich as I filled up on the fries and 2 onion rings, check photo! My second time here and a very pleasant place to dine. ”
“ I had lunch here during a work trip, I wish I could stay for dinner. Food is freshly prepared our sever Romeo is friendly and helpful with navigating the area. They also have a great tequila selection another good reason to return for dinner! ”
